The Brainsick code compiler (bscc) is an open source compiler for the classic, pre‐.NET, Visual Basic (VB) language. Specifically, the VB6 dialect is our main compatibility target.

Brainsick is free software.

What’s up with the name “Brainsick”?

Contrary to popular belief, this does not refer to the state of mind required to write a compiler for the Visual Basic (VB) language. Instead, the etymology is very similar to that of Samba.
